Lighting Designer / Furniture and Interior Architect MFA Kjartan worked as an interior architect from 1998, first in Italy after his studies and then at Arkþing Architects until he started working independently. In addition, he worked as a lighting designer for Rafkaup hf intermittently. Since 2014, Kjartan has mainly worked in the design and production of lights and furniture for his own company, both in Iceland and the United States, and still does so while working for Hildiberg. Kjartan has participated in many design and product exhibitions around the world and has received various awards and recognitions for his work. Kjartan is a trained furniture and interior architect from ISAD in Milan, Italy and has a master's degree (MFA) in furniture design and production from RISD, Providence USA.
Lighting Designer MSLL Kristján has 16 years of extensive experience in lighting design and has been involved in a variety of international projects. Kristján has also worked as a light artist and has set up light art projects around Europe in recent years. As well as having been responsible for lighting works and objects for art museums in Iceland and the UK. Kristján began his career at Lumex in 2004, but after working as a lighting designer and artist for several years, Kristján studied lighting technology and then lighting design, which he completed in 2009. Kristján was hired by EFLA Engineering in 2013 as a lighting designer. In 2015, Kristján moved to Edinburgh and started working at the design studio KSLD, where he worked until 2019. Kristján worked for over a year at Liska Lighting and Electrical Design before founding Hildiberg Design House in 2020. Kristján is recognized as a professional lighting designer by the British Association of Lighting Engineers (CBISE – SLL) as well as being a member of the dark sky association
Lighting Designer Brynjar has a journeyman's degree in electrical engineering and has worked as an electrician since 2012, where he was responsible for project management on large projects, among other things. In 2021, Brynjar began his career as a lighting designer at Efla Engineering after working in sales and lighting consulting at Rafkaup. In 2022, Brynjar joined Hildiberg. Brynjar has participated in a variety of projects as a lighting designer at Hildiberg.
